Old News/Updates

Here's Your Update, Everyone

After many, many e-mails from loyal FFS Guide fans, I have decided to post a news update. No, the FFS Guide is not going to "die." The reason for the lack of updates, as I have already touched upon in the Shoutbox, is because the FreeFlatScreens program itself has slowed down, following it's initial boom a few months back. However, so long as they continue to update and introduce new offers, so shall I. Here is one of the newer offers:

For just $1.00, the Travelers Advantage offer gets you a one-month trial membership where you can save on hotels reservations, vacation packages, car rentals, and more! Plus, you get a free CD player, just for signing up! After receiving credit for the offer, simply call toll-free 1-877-259-2689 and your credit card will not be billed any monthly charges. Completing this offer gets your account instantly credited!

More information about the newer offers will be coming shortly.

Happy Holidays!

Sorry for the downtime, everyone. You'll be happy to know that we are up and running once again! Happy holidays from the FFS Guide!

Slow...

Well, things have been quite slow in the FreeFlatScreens program. Since the last update, only two new offers have been added: Hydroderm and Dream Shape.

Both the Hydroderm and the Dream Shape offers can be completed similarly. Signing up for the Hydroderm trial gets you a 14-day supply of Hydroderm's patented wrinkle-reducing cream. You need only pay $7.95 for shipping and canceling further orders can be done simply by calling their customer service line at 1-888-460-5888. By signing up for the Dream Shape offer and paying only $7.95 for shipping, you will receive a two-week supply of their natural weight loss pills. If you are not completely satisfied and don't want to continue the trial, just call their customer service representatives at 1-888-451-9888. Both offers are simple to complete and get you credit instantly!

Despite the slowdown in the appearance of new offers, it is nice to hear from members of the program who are moving into the "Sent to Vendor" phase and who are getting shipped. Keep the great news coming!

More New Offers; The Holiday Season Approaches Swiftly!

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving and are looking forward to a great holiday season. As you may have noticed, the rate of new offers being introduced into the FreeFlatScreens program has decreased significantly since Thanksgiving. Nevertheless, there following are some of the newer offers if you are not aware of them already:

The Discover Titanium Card offers you a 0% introductory APR, online account access, free additional cards, and a free Discover 2GO Card. If you would rather have a MasterCard, the Citi Platinum Select Card also offers you a 0% introductory APR with the notable Citi Identity Theft Solutions and online account access. Both are simple offers to complete and give you credit for your FreeFlatScreens account.

Another new offer is PeoplePC Online, an internet provider that boasts better quality internet access with more dial-up numbers and Smart Dialer technology for faster connections. To receive credit for the offer, sign up for their free 30-day trial. After receiving credit, call 1-877-947-3327 to cancel and pay nothing. PeoplePC Online joins the ranks of the AOL and Netscape offers as great internet-provider free trial programs.

Recently, I received some e-mails about why certain people's referral addresses look differently than theirs. Right now, the address can take two different forms:

The latter was was first introducted when the FreeFlatScreens program was launched. The former was adopted more recently and has a neater, more compact form. And yes, both of these forms work perfectly.

New Offers; New Pictures

The FreeFlatScreens program keeps rolling out new offers for all of its loyal customers. The three newest offers are Audible.com, The Wall Street Journal, and GloPhone.

A membership to Audible.com gets you audio-books, audio-magazines, newspapers and radio shows, all of which can be easily downloaded to your home computer or portable MP3 player. To receive credit for completing the Audible.com offer, simply pay $2.99 and sign up for their trial subscription. To cancel, call their customer service department toll-free at 1-888-283-5051.

Signing up for the Wall Street Journal offer is not only easy, but it also gets you free issues. Simply select any of their subscription plans and you will receive credit for completing the offer. Any cancellation or subscription related questions can be directed to 1-800-JOURNAL.

GloPhone is a money saving program that can actually turn your computer into a telephone. Signing up for their 30-day risk-free trial gets you a U.S. phone number with your choice on an area code, free minutes, caller ID, voice mail, a free headset, and much more. Pay only $4.95 shipping and handling for the headset. To cancel your plan and prevent being charged, simply call 1-877-voice00 before the trial ends.

And finally, another set of images was added to the Evidence section.

FONcentral Offer; FreeFlatScreen's TRUSTe Membership

The FreeFlatScreen program's newest offer is FONcentral. Receiving credit for the offer is simple: sign up with T-Mobile and get the Motorola GSM World Phone for free. If you cancel within 14 days, you will not be charged a cancellation fee.

Also, since it has not yet been mentioned, I will take this time to point out that FreeFlatScreens.com is a licensee of the TRUSTe privacy program. TRUSTe is an independent, non-profit organization who is dedicated to helping individuals and organizations establish trusting relationships with consumers by promoting the use of fair information practices. For more information, please refer to FreeFlatScreen's Privacy Policy.

Information about TRUSTe will be added to the Evidence section shortly.

Don't Forget to Vote!

Today is Tuesday, November 2nd, and the FreeFlatScreens program has kindly reminded us (opens in new window) to go out and vote! Don't forget!

FreeFlatScreens' Recent Offers & Update of their Help/FAQ

Zooba and the Citi Dividend Platinum Select Card for College Students are the newest offers to hit the FreeFlatScreens program.

Zooba is an online bookstore that carries all of the latest bestsellers at just $9.95 each (includes free shipping). To receive credit for this offer, simple purchase any two books from Zooba and you will be credited immediately! This offer is a great choice if you couldn't find the books you wanted from The Literary Guild offer, or if you just love to read!

The Citi Dividend Platinum Select Card for College Students can earn you cash back on all of your purchases: 5% cash back on purchases at supermarkets, drug stores, and gas stations, and 1% back on everything else! Signing up for the card gets your FreeFlatScreens account credited!

Also, as many of you have noticed, FreeFlatScreens has made some small but helpful updateds to their Help/FAQ page, adding more answers to help those with referral problems and customers who want an overview of the program.

10/24/2004

Newest Offer: The Citi Driver's Edge Platinum Select Card

The newest offer to be recently added to the FreeFlatScreens program is the Citi Driver's Edge Platinum Select Card. The Driver's Edge Platinum Select can earn you rebates that are good for new or used cars, services, maintenance, or repairs. For the first nine months, you will earn a 5% rebate on all of your purchases. To receive credit for the offer, simply apply for the card!

10/14/2004

The TrimLife Offer; Phone Calls from NVC

The FFS Guide has a large update for you today! Firstly, FreeFlatScreens has made available yet another offer: The TrimLife Trio. Similar to the MyDailyDose vitamin offer, signing up for the TrimLife offer will get you a free 14-day trial of their three varieties of weight loss pills. Simply pay $5.95 for shipping and handling, then, after receiving credit for completing the offer, call toll free 1-888-829-2430 to stop any more shipments of pills.

And those of you who have recently ordered a Sony Wega may have received this e-mail from Gratis Internet:

FreeFlatScreens Customer,

In order for Sony to be able to deliver your television, they need a phone number to reach you at in order to schedule a delivery time with you. Please reply to this email and we will provide them with this updated information. Sony is using a new shipping company called NVC that handles home deliveries to insure that your television arrives without issue.

Again, please respond with a phone number that you can be reached at in order to schedule the delivery of your television as soon as possible. Not having this information will cause delay in receiving your television. Once Sony has this information you should be contacted within a few days to schedule the delivery.

Thanks
Customer Service,
www.FreeFlatScreens.com

As explained in the e-mail, Sony, from whom Gratis directly orders the Sony Wega TVs, is now using NVC Logistics (http://www.nvcexpress.com) to ship the TVs. Prior to switching to NVC, Sony was receiving many calls from people who apparently received damaged TV sets. To help reduce such inconveniences, the NVC delivery personnel aid the customer in making sure that the TV functions properly before leaving. Great news indeed!

Finally, the Evidence section has been updated with two more sets of pictures.

And, by request, coming soon to the FFS Guide is an index with all of the offers presented by Gratis Internet's affiliates! For now, if you are looking for information about an offer that is not listed in The Instruction Manual, browse through this news section, or check the Old News/Updates section (opens in a new window).

10/13/2004

Newest Offer: NetZero

Selecting and signing up for NetZero as your internet service provider is the newest offer available in the FreeFlatScreens program. To complete the offer, one is required to sign up for their service and remain a member for two months. Their membership packages begin at $9.95 per month. This offer is quite different from the AOL and Netscape offers, in that one has to pay for the NetZero service in order to receive credit for completing the offer. However, NetZero may still be worthwhile to many who are in need of a cheaper AOL alternative, and who are looking for customer service folk who are less pushy in their sales.

Return of the eBay Offer!

eBay

As many of you have noticed, the eBay offer has returned! Some of you FreeFlatScreens.com veterans will remember eBay as being the offer to complete if you did not have a credit card. Fortunately, the FFS Guide never removed the instructions for completing the eBay offer from The Instruction Manual in the event that this day would come and the eBay offer would return, so head on over there to see the how to complete the offer successfully!

Before jumping for joy, keep the mind that though the eBay offer is listed, if may not always be available. Many users have gotten the "This offer is unavailable. Please try another offer from the offer list" display when trying to complete the offer. Additionally, remember that all of the offers are constantly being "rotated" so you may not always see the eBay offer. My suggestion is that if the offer is available and you are interested in completing it, don't wait!

The MyDailyDose Offer; So Where Did All of the Old News Go?

Just added today was the MyDailyDose offer. MyDailyDose develops and manufactures five daily vitamin and mineral capsules that are said to improve your health in every way. To get credit for completing the MyDailyDose offer, sign up for their seven-day trial of the vitamins and pay only $5.95 for shipping and handling. To prevent subsequent shipments of vitamins and additional billings, simply cancel within 14 days by calling 1-800-515-1070, or by e-mailing [email protected].

Also, by request, a link to many of the old news and updates has been added. The link is located at the end of this "News/Recent Site Updates" section, just before the "So, How Do I Get a Free Flatscreen?" section. Or, you may click here to view the page (pops up in a new window). The page only has news and updates saved from 8/11 and onward.

The FFS Guide's Shoutbox has been unusually quiet recently. If you have any questions about the FreeFlatScreens program, don't hesitate to post it! I or the other members of the FFS Guide community will try our best to answer the question. Don't be intimidated from asking a question because you think there is no one else posting!

Much to the delight of many, the Real Rhapsody offer, which has been unavailable for the past several weeks, has made its return in the FreeFlatScreens program. Head over to The Instruction Manual for an updated description about how it works.

Also available are two new offers: eFax Plus and MyInks.

eFax Plus is a service that allows you to send and receive faxes right from your computer. Signing up is quick, canceling is easy, and best of all, the trial is completely free. More information about eFax Plus is in the The Instruction Manual.

The FAQs have also been slightly updated.

Regarding the Downtime; New Offers in the FreeFlatScreens Program

The FFS Guide experienced some downtime yesterday and many people were unable to access this site. Out of fairness to the donator, the referral link currently in The Spotlight will be displayed until 9:00 PM tomorrow night. As a result, all referral links that were scheduled to be displayed on or after today, 9/17, will have their displaying delayed for 24 hours. (So, for example, if your link was scheduled to be displayed in The Spotlight at 9:00 PM on 9/20, it will now be displayed at 9:00 PM on 9/21.) I apologize for the downtime and hope that it never happen again.

In happier news, two new offers appeared in the FreeFlatScreens program yesterday: Bargain.com - Homes and Boca Java.

During the free trial, Bargain.com provides the user with a large database of real estate listings and services useful for the potential homebuyer. After signing up and receiving credit for completing the offer, call 1-800-333-1915 to cancel the service and you will be charged nothing.

If you are a coffee lover, the Boca Java offer is for you! Purchase any four bags of coffee and pay $8.00 plus $7.95 shipping and processing. With it, you will receive a free tumbler or coffee mug!

Did You Order a Samsung Flatscreen?

Are you someone who ordered the Samsung 15" LCD TV or the Samsung 17" LCD monitor? Are you currently "In Progress?" Many people who have ordered either of the two Samsung flatscreens have been able to check their order status at Techonweb.com, Gratis Internet's distributor of the Samsung flatscreens.

To check your order status, go to Techonweb.com and click on "My Account" in the upper-right corner. Then click "Forgot Password." A window will pop up asking you for your email address. Enter the email address that you used to register for a FreeFlatScreens account. Within a few minutes, you should receive an email with the password. Log into your Techonweb.com account, click on "Invoices," and you should find your shipping status. Again, this is only for those who ordered a Samsung flatscreen and whose status is "In Progress." If Techonweb does not have your information, they may not have received your order yet. Try to be patient and don't worry too much about it.

Other than that find, the FreeFlatScreens program has been pretty quiet lately.

Update to FreeFlatScreens.com's Help Page

Earlier tonight, FreeFlatScreens.com revamped their Help/FAQ page, changing the organization of the page and adding answers to several new questions. The questions and answers regarding the status of orders and account crediting and verification are worth reading. Hopefully, their updated FAQ page will help those who previously had trouble or some unanswered questions.

If you have a question that still isn't answered in FreeFlatScreen.com's Help/FAQ page or FFS Guide's FAQs, feel free to post it in the Shoutbox.

Just Some Small Updates

I would like to extend a big Thank You to all of the people who kindly donated using the FFS Guide's new PayPal Donation button! Perhaps I will offer another bonus to donators in the future!

Some pages of the FFS Guide have been updated.

9/4/2004

Donation Function is Back (Bonus For Donators!); Plus Various Updates

The Ancestry.com and Stamps.com offers have made their appearance in the FreeFlatScreens program, and information about both are in the The Instruction Manual. Both are excellent and are worth considering if you still need to complete an offer. Other parts of the FFS Guide have also had small updates.

I am extremely pleased to announce that the Donation function has returned, and that the FFS Guide has a brand-spankin new PayPal account! If you are interested in making a donation, or if you would like your own referral link to be listed in The Spotlight (upper-right corner), head on over to the About Us page and scroll down to the Donations section.

And I did promise a small bonus to upcoming donators, so here it is:

Everyone who donates at least $10 and submits their FreeFlatScreens referral link will have it displayed in The Spotlight for 48 hours, instead of the usual 24 hours. This offer will only be valid until Sunday, September 5 at 11:59:59 PM EST! I must have received your donation before that time for you to qualify! Though your link may not necessarily be displayed between now and Sunday, it WILL be displayed for 48 hours. Head on over to the Donations section to see the next available time slot and for more information about how to donate!

9/1/2004

FFS Guide Button; Old News Revisited

FFS Guide

The FFS Guide now has its own spiffy button! If you have a personal website and would like to link to us, this button is available for your usage! One thing that I ask is that you upload the button to your own server, as not to eat up the FFS Guide's bandwidth. The button will be placed in the About Us section.

Also, sometime this weekend, the donation button will be returning. I will be offering a small bonus to any upcoming donators, so stayed tuned for more information.

Not long ago, someone introduced a piece of information in the Shoutbox that brought about a long chain of confusion for people everywhere. The comment addressed the following excerpt from FreeFlatScreen.com's Terms and Conditions:

"All users may have only one account at FreeFlatScreens.com. A user may have an account at FreeFlatScreens.com and also an account at one of the other Gratis Internet websites."

Several questions arose about whether or not a user could hold more than two accounts in Gratis' network of "Free" websites. The recent update to the Terms and Conditions should clear everything up:

"...[U]sers are allowed to create a unique account with each referral-based site, as all of these sites are not linked together. Users are not allowed to have multiple accounts within a single referral-based site. All multiple accounts found to be fraudulent and which violate these Terms and Conditions will be placed on hold."

Samsung 15" LCD TV replaces Magnavox TV

We Will Miss You, Magnavox TV!

Today, FreeFlatScreens.com replaced the Magnavox 15MF200V 15" LCD Flat Panel TV with a new flatscreen: the 15" Samsung SyncMaster 510MP LCD TV. Gratis sent this email to all of their customers who ordered the Magnavox:

"We are very sorry to inform you that your recent order of a Magnavox LCD TV monitor has been canceled. This product has been discontinued, and will not be available in the future. The good news is that you will be able to order any other Flat Screen of your choosing from our website, FreeFlatScreens.com.

We have replaced the Magnavox with a better LCD TV (the Samsung MP510-Silver) that is on the site now which will provide the same functionality as the Magnavox. Just log into your account, and go to check status, and select another monitor. and then click redeem.

Thanks for your understanding, and we are extremely sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Sincerely, Gratis Internet"

The specifications of the Samsung 15" LCD TV and the Samsung 17" LCD Monitor were also both added today.

8/29/2004

Regarding the Infone Offer...

The Infone offer, unquestionably one of the easiest offers to complete, is reported to be constantly disappearing and reappearing. All I can say is that if you don't see the offer when you login and you really want to complete it, try again later. As of this writing (approximately 11:15 PM EST), the Infone offer is available. Remember to always use the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser.

The Shoutbox was also down earlier, but now seems to be working well.

8/26/2004

Another New Offer: Netscape Internet Service; Updates to The Instruction Manual

From the people who brought you AOL comes a cheaper alternative to AOL... Netscape! Today, the FreeFlatScreens program added the Netscape Internet Service offer to its lineup, which now has 10 fine offers for you to choose from. This offer works exactly the same way as the AOL with MusicNet offer. Simply sign up for their one-month trial, wait for your account to be credited (which should take 1 to 2 days according to them), then call the friendly folks at Netscape and cancel.

The Instruction Manual has been updated to include the Netscape and Blockbuster offers.

8/25/2004

Blockbuster Online

The newest offer available in the FreeFlatScreens program is Blockbuster Online. Signing up gives you a free two week trial, during which you may rent an unlimited number of DVDs. If anyone here is familiar with Netflix, which has been around since 1999, then you have a basic idea of the services that Blockbuster Online offers. And yes, you do need a credit card for this offer. Interestingly, when selecting this offer, a message appears stating that "To be elegible you may not cancel during your free 2 week trial." (Yes, that is a typo.) There is no word on what happens if you cancel the service after you receive credit for completing the offer.

I will be adding the Blockbuster Online offer to the Instruction Manual soon.

8/23/2004

Some Updates Here and There...

Various pages of the FFS Guide have been updated, including information about the recently-added Infone offer in the Instruction Manual. And for those who are interested, I hope to have the Donation function working again by early next week. I'm currently debating on whether or not I should offer to put up FreeiPod referral links for donators who would rather have that put up instead of their FreeFlatScreens links.

8/21/2004

Samsung 17" replaces LG 15" and MAG 17"

Yesterday night, FreeFlatScreens removed the image of the LG Electronics Flatron monitor from its homepage. With both the LG Electronics 15" and the MAG 17" monitors no longer available as selections, FreeFlatScreens introduced a new flatscreen monitor: The Samsung 710N-Black 17" LCD Monitor, which is the second flatscreen now displayed on this page.

The FreeflatScreens site has not yet made the specs of the Samsung available, but some scouting reveals the following:

I have also made some minor updates to the The Instruction Manual, noting the disappearance of the Ancestry.com and RealRhapsody offers. Hopefully, they will return soon. Many thanks to everyone who reported the changes. And the About Us page now is back after I accidentally deleted it. It is updated with info on how to send us your flatscreen pictures.

8/20/2004

Mistake at FreeFlatScreens' Site Fixed

The mistake at FreeFlatScreens reported yesterday has been fixed. Hovering your mouse over the"What does this mean?" button next to the "Joined, but offer not completed" Referral Status label yields the following message:

"This means that the person you referred has joined our site, but no credit for a completed offer has shown up. They may have completed an offer already, but it can take up to 15 or more days for credit to appear. If they havent completed an offer, you can encourage them to try any of our great online offers listed on the Complete Offer page."

Hopefully, this will reduce any confusion that the incorrect message initially caused.

8/19/2004

Confirmed: MAG 17" No Longer Offered; Mistakes at FreeFlatScreens' Site

The webmasters of the FreeFlatScreens site have made somewhat of a large mistake. As stated in yesterday's news, a "What does this mean?" button has been added to several locations of the site, one of which is next to the yellow "Joined, but offer not completed" Referral Status label. Hovering your mouse over the button gives this message:

"This means that this user did not sucessfully join our site by clicking your exact referral link. Users must join from your link in order to get credit. This user has joined our site, but you cannot receive referral credit for them completing any offers."

Joined, but offer not completed Joined, but offer not completed. User did not join via referral link

Clearly, that message is incorrect. As far as I am concerned, that message is actually meant for the grey "Joined, but offer not completed. User did not join via referral link" status, not the yellow "Joined, but offer not completed" status.

I have also received an email from FreeFlatScreens' Customer Service regarding the MAG 17" monitor. The representative who emailed me stated the MAG "was on indefinite backorder and was removed."

I have also obtained, from another source, the message that Gratis sent to its customers who ordered the MAG:

"We are very sorry to inform you that your recent order of a 17 inch MAG monitor has been canceled. This product has been unavailable, and will not be available in the future. We went to great lengths to try and fulfill this order, but unfortunately the product quickly became unavailable.

The good news is that you will be able to order any other Flat Screen of your choosing from our website. Just log into your account, and select another monitor and then click redeem. Thanks for your understanding, and we are extremely sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Sincerely, Gratis Internet"

So once again, it has been confirmed that the MAG 17" monitor is no longer available.

8/18/2004

Cosmetic Changes at FreeFlatScreen's Site; MAG 17" Disappears?

There have been a few major changes at the FreeFlatScreens website.

The most noticable has been the disappearance of the MAG 17" monitor's picture on the homepage, even though receiving the MAG 17" is still an option in their flatscreen selection menu. At this point, it is unclear if FreeFlatScreens is still offering to send out that monitor.

Also new is the appearance of a grey "What does this mean?" button. The button appears in various places and hovering your mouse over the button provides some information about the current section of the site.

Many users are also reporting changes in the "stages" of the flatscreen ordering process. For users who have already placed an order for a flatscreen, they are finding that they are in either the Processing/Pending, Temp, Pending Approval, or Sent to Vendor, Waiting on Product stages. The Sent to Vendor, Waiting on Product stage appears to be a replacement for the Progress 3 stage.

There is still no news on new shipments of flatscreens being mailed out. If you have any information about shipments or status changes, let us know in the Shoutbox!

Meanwhile, I will be making minor adjustments to this site. I hope to have the Donation option up and running again soon.

8/17/2004

New Shoutbox!

As promised, we now have a Shoutbox below the menu! Please keep the Shoutbox clean and do not post links or anything inappropriate or your IP may be banned.

Update #2: A couple of bad apples ruined the Shoutbox for others, so I have deleted all of the posts so that we may start anew. Please don't make me do that again.

8/11/2004

Made some small updates in The Instruction Manual.
